Australian Government puts support behind soil carbon

The Australian Government’s First Low Emissions Technology Statement – 2020 has named soil carbon as one of five priority technologies and set a target to cut soil sampling costs by 90 percent.

The government’s economic stretch goal is for soil carbon measurement to be under $3 per hectare per year which would transform the economics of soil carbon projects for Australian farmers.

Listen below to the managing director of AgriProve, a leading soil carbon developer, explain how this will enable the soil carbon industry to expand and attract investment.

Matthew Warnken spoke with Alexandra de Blas in response to the announcement and, in a longer conversation, discussed the soil carbon industry and how it operates.
